Know all men by these presents
that I, Eli Allen of Summerhill Township,
Crawford County and State of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind memory and
understanding do make this my last will and testament in manner and form
following (viz)
I will devise and bequeath to my son-in-law Robert
H. Sloan during his natural life the farm on which I now reside for
his use and his children’s, situated in the Township, County, and State
aforesaid known as the home farm and at his death I will devise and
bequeath to my grandson, Eli A. Sloan,
his heirs and assigns the same farm for his use.
I will devise and bequeath to my son-in-law Robert
H. Sloan all my personal property both indoors and out subject to
paying my wife’s and my funeral expenses and doctors bills.
I will my farm in Summit Township after my death to be
sold and I hereby empower and authorize my executor to sell and make a
deed for the same and I will devise and bequeath to my Daughter, Emma
Crickmer, four hundred dollars out of the proceeds of the same and
I will and devise and bequeath to my granddaughters, Nellie
and Alice Canham, each, one hundred dollars
and the balance after paying expenses I will devise and bequeath to my
dauther Martha A. McGuire’s, deceased,
children to share alike.
And I nominate constitute and appoint Luther
C. Beatty, Executor of this my last will and testament hereby
revoking all former wills by me made and do declare this to be my last
will and testament in witness whereof I have unto set my hand and seal the
10th day of May, A.D. 1887.
